Who Are We?

We are a student led organization that meets weekly for dinner, Bible study, and worship.  We serve God in all that we do AND we enjoy discussing those tough questions that come up living on a college campus.

Student Leaders

Ethan Hodges, President  hodges96@vt.edu

Ethan is a Senior from Christiansburg, Virginia, studying Computer Engineering with minors in Mathematics and Cybersecurity. Ethan enjoys hiking, canoeing, and hammocking, and he is interning part-time with Excella, a consulting company located in the Corporate Research Center. Ethan has been involved with The Well since his freshman year, and he's hype to help make this a rockin' year!

Andy Taminger, Secretary  andyt96@vt.edu

Andy is a sophomore in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise. Along with his involvement in campus ministries, Andy also plays trombone for the Marching Virginians, and is a part of the Bigfoot Club here at Tech. He loves coffee and puppies (and so much more!), along with a love for meeting new people!

Jayme Kokkonen, Peer Ministry Coordinator  jaymek@vt.edu

Jayme is a senior studying Human Development with a minor in Religion. She spends most of her free time playing either rugby or Rockband and a fun fact about her is that she calls Goldfish "fish crackers".

Christian Lysek, Service and Outreach Coordinator  clysek26@vt.edu

Christian is a sophomore from New Kent, Virginia double majoring in Building Construction and Real Estate. Outside of the Well, Christian is a member of Campus Outreach and enjoys watching sports and movies, working out, and hiking. After such a great freshman year at the Well, he cannot wait to help the club thrive and grow in the future!

Erin Wachter, Social Coordinator  erinw17@vt.edu

Erin is a sophomore majoring in Natural Resource Conservation with a minor in Civic Agriculture and Food Systems. If Erin was asked to describe her personality as an ice cream flavor she would say that she was vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles. Erin feels passionately about breakfast burritos, dogs, climbing trees (also just trees in general), and bojanglin' around outside.

Campus Minister

Bryan Katz, Lay Campus Minister  bkatz@vt.edu

Bryan is an Associate Professor of Practice in Civil Engineering at Virginia Tech and is in the candidacy process to be a Deacon in the ELCA through the Virginia Synod.  He has been taking classes as a distance learner at both the Institute of Lutheran Theology and Luther Seminary.  He has a passion for ministry that extends beyond the four walls of traditional church buildings.  He has been a Hokie since 1997, receiving his BS, MS, and Ph.D. degrees from Virginia Tech.  His wife, Katie, is a Professor in Nursing at Radford University and he has two children, Emily and Ethan.
